What We Help With

  • Athletes often encounter strains, sprains, joint dysfunction, and muscle imbalances, and chiropractic treatments can be highly effective in managing these issues.

Some common sports injuries that chiropractic care can help with include:

Sprains and Strains: We use manual adjustments and soft tissue therapies to promote healing and restore proper function to ligaments and muscles.

Joint Pain and Dysfunction: Whether it’s the shoulders, knees, or ankles, chiropractic adjustments can improve joint mobility and reduce inflammation, helping athletes regain full range of motion.

Tendinitis and Overuse Injuries: Your personalized treatment plan will focus on relieving pain, improving circulation, and reducing muscle tension, enabling faster recovery from repetitive motion injuries.

By integrating chiropractic care into your recovery and maintenance routine, athletes can reduce downtime, enhance performance, and prevent future injuries. At MVP Chiropractic, we specialize in tailored care plans to support your active lifestyle and keep you in the game.

  • Chiropractic care treats disc herniations by addressing spinal restriction and loss of disc space that can cause nerve pain. Dr. Bird and Dr. Vig gently adjust the spine to ease pressure on the herniated disc and associated nerves. This helps lower inflammation and lets the disc heal naturally. Spinal decompression is also a non-invasive approach that helps improve disc space between the vertebrae. They also use soft tissue therapy, exercises, and lifestyle tips to support spine health and prevent more injury. By improving spine movement and stability, chiropractic care reduces pain and speeds up recovery.

  • Arthritis in the spine, also known as spinal osteoarthritis or facet joint arthritis, is a common condition that causes inflammation, pain, and stiffness in the joints of the spine. This condition results from the breakdown of cartilage between the vertebrae, leading to bone-on-bone contact, which can cause discomfort and reduce mobility.

Chiropractic manipulation offers a natural, non-invasive approach to managing arthritis in the spine. By gently adjusting restricted vertebral joints, chiropractors help improve spinal movement and restore proper joint function. These adjustments can reduce pressure on the surrounding nerves and tissues, relieve pain, and increase the range of motion.

Regular chiropractic treatments, combined with targeted exercises and lifestyle recommendations, can help manage symptoms, improve spinal health, and enhance overall quality of life for those suffering from spinal arthritis. If you’re experiencing chronic back pain or stiffness, consulting a chiropractor can be a beneficial step toward finding relief.

  • Sciatica is characterized by pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back through the hips and buttocks down each leg. Common symptoms of sciatica include:

    • Sharp, shooting pain that starts in the lower back or buttock and travels down the leg

    • Numbness or tingling sensations in the leg or foot

    • Muscle weakness in the affected leg

    • A burning or electric shock-like feeling

    • Difficulty standing up or walking due to pain

Chiropractic care offers a natural, non-invasive approach to managing sciatica symptoms by addressing the root causes such as herniated discs, spinal restrictions, or nerve irritation.

  • Tension headaches are one of the most common types of headaches, often characterized by a dull, aching pain and a sensation of tightness or pressure around the forehead or the back of the head and neck. They can result from stress, poor posture, muscle strain, or even prolonged screen time.

Chiropractic care addresses tension headaches by focusing on postural abnormalities and spinal restrictions. Restrictions in the cervical spine can lead to muscle tension and nerve irritation, contributing to headache pain. Through gentle spinal adjustments and manual therapy, chiropractors relieve joint pain and muscle tension. This not only reduces headache frequency and intensity but also improves posture and promotes relaxation.

In addition to adjustments, chiropractors often recommend lifestyle changes, ergonomic improvements, and specific exercises to prevent recurring headaches.

  • Segmental joint dysfunction refers to a condition where one or more joints in the spine do not move as they should, leading to restricted motion, pain, and sometimes muscle spasms. This dysfunction can result from injury, poor posture, repetitive strain, or underlying health conditions.

Chiropractic care is highly effective in addressing segmental joint dysfunction. Chiropractors use spinal adjustments or manipulations to restore proper joint movement, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain. By targeting the specific dysfunctional segments, chiropractic treatments help improve spinal alignment and mobility, which in turn can reduce nerve irritation and muscle tension.

Regular chiropractic care not only provides relief from discomfort caused by segmental joint dysfunction but may also prevent the development of further complications by promoting overall spine health. Additionally, chiropractors often recommend complementary therapies such as stretching exercises, posture correction, and lifestyle advice to support long-term spinal wellness.

If you’re experiencing localized back or neck pain, stiffness, or reduced range of motion, consulting a chiropractor may be a beneficial step toward restoring comfort and function.

Our Tools For Success

  • We specialize in assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries. Whether you’re a competitive athlete or a weekend warrior, our goal is to help you move better and perform your best. Common injuries we see: sprains and strains (ankle, wrist, knee) rotator cuff injury, golfer’s elbow, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, IT band syndrome, shin splints, low back and hip pain, and hip flexor strains.

  • Spinal decompression is a non-surgical motorized traction therapy that gently stretches the spine to relieve pressure on compressed discs and nerves. This can be effective for chronic neck or back pain or disc-related injuries. Conditions that spinal decompression helps with include: herniated or bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatic or nerve root compression, facet syndrome, or chronic neck or back pain. Sessions are gentle, relaxing, and usually last about 10-15 minutes.

  • Our providers are skilled in offering myofascial release which helps increase blood flow, decrease muscle tension, and improve overall function in a muscle or joint. We use IASTM (instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization), cupping therapy, and trigger point therapy.

  • The “M” stands for Movement and we know that movement is the best medicine for our bodies. We will work specifically with you for a exercise plan that supports your chiropractic treatment and allows you to move better and ultimately feel better. We will give you exercises to go home with as well as create a patient portal that gives you access to hundreds of exercises. Our goal is to help restore your range of motion, improve stability and strength, and prevent future injury.

  • Our providers have over 20 years of combined experience and use a gentle hands-on technique to help facilitate joint movement and reduce pain. We use controlled force to joints that have become restricted including spinal joints as well as extremities like your shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle or foot. Common conditions we see: low back pain, neck pain and stiffness, headaches, sciatica, shoulder or hip pain, sports injuries, whiplash, motor vehicle accidents, and rib dysfunction. We primarily use a diversified (manual adjusting) technique but use activator or gentle soft tissue mobilization as well - it is always dependent on YOU the patient!

Chiropractic care involves a hands-on approach to addressing musculoskeletal conditions. Chiropractic manipulation, often called an adjustment, is used to treat restricted joints, reduce stress on the surrounding muscles, and increase range of motion. This treatment option is often used for low back pain, neck pain, shoulder restrictions or achiness, ankle restrictions, and other musculoskeletal concerns.

Chiropractic Manipulation

Percussive Tools

The use of high quality percussion therapy can help increase circulation, decrease muscle soreness, and improve the muscle's range of motion. MVP Chiropractic proudly partners with Hyperice and we use their instruments to help treat many musculoskeletal conditions including low back pain, hip pain, plantar fasciitis, muscle soreness, and several sports injuries.

Sports Therapy & Rehab

Therapeutic exercises are often encouraged as part of the treatment plan to help strengthen surrounding muscles, improve range of motion, and reinforce long term stability. Therapeutic exercises help target certain weak or overstretched muscles to help take tension off the sore and tighter muscles. These are often used for neck tightness, low back stiffness, shoulder impingements, knee pain, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
