Neck Pain
-
Neck pain frequently occurs when one of the seven joints in your neck is not moving correctly. Restricted joints can lead to inflammation and muscle tension, which can perpetuate the problem. Joint restrictions can cause neck, shoulder, and upper back pain, leading to headaches, lightheadedness, and other problems. Be sure to seek immediate medical attention if your symptoms include significant spinning dizziness, numbness, or tingling in your face or arms, changes in vision, or difficulty speaking, swallowing, or walking.

A spine with a joint restriction is like having a section of that spring welded together. These restrictions cause the surrounding muscles to become overworked, leading to tightness, compression, inflammation, pain, and more restriction. Many things can cause a joint to become restricted, including injuries, repetitive strain, or poor posture.

Chiropractic care is an excellent way to treat joint restrictions and help reduce neck pain. Our providers will also give you at-home stretching and/or exercises to help. It is important to avoid carrying heavy bags or purses on your shoulder, take breaks from sitting in one place for too long, and stay active.
